Laconia-----Robert L. "Sharkey" Sharkey, Jr., 50, of 33 Roller Coaster Road, died at his home on Sunday, April 6, 2003.
Mr. Sharkey was born May 1, 1952 in Boston, MA the son of Robert L. and Anne P. (McGuerty) Sharkey, Sr. He lived in Georges Mills, NH before moving to Laconia 14 years ago.
Mr. Sharkey was the warehouse manager for Fisher Ski - USA in Concord, NH for five years before retiring due to illness. He was also co-proprietor of three area businesses, Pheasant Ridge Country Club and Cackling Crow in Gilford and Crossroads at Weirs Beach.
Mr. Sharkey was an avid sports fan particularly the Boston Teams.
Survivors include his mother, Anne P. Sharkey of New London, NH; two sons, Robert L. Sharkey III of New London, NH and Michael J. Sharkey of Watertown, MA; a brother, David M. Sharkey, of Georges Mills, NH; and his beloved companion, Signe "Ziggy" Wallace of Laconia. He was predeceased by his father, Robert L. Sharkey, Sr.
There will be no calling hours.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2003 at 3:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Memorial Processing Center, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701-9376 or to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 No. Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
