Dover------Evelyn F. Hamilton, 88, of Dover, NH, died on Thursday, April 13, 2006, at Langdon Place. Born in Lochmere, NH, on November 12, 1917, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Fifield. A former longtime resident of Laconia, NH, she also resided in Derry, NH; Stratham, NH; and Meredith, NH, before moving to Dover, NH, in 1994.
She was an artist, a world traveler, an avid crossword expert, a literacy tutor, and a talented quilter. She loved music, dancing and theater. During her lifetime, she gave generously to her family and gifted her grandson, who was dying of cancer, with a once in a lifetime trip to England. She was a lover of animals and contributed throughout her life to many animal causes.
She is survived by her four children: Anne Hollingworth and husband, Guy, of York, Maine; Jane Hamilton; Mary Lou Bagley and husband, Bob, of South Berwick, Maine; and John Hamilton and wife, Jody, of Strafford, New Hampshire. She is also survived by grandchildren: Mark Clay, Frank Clay, Charlie Moulton, Kristin Clay Marks, Christina Milotte, Ian Milotte, and Melanie Bagley Turner as well as three great-grandchildren: Bill & Breanna Marks and Jeremy Turner.
She was predeceased by her husband William J. Hamilton and grandson William L. Clay.
A calling hour will be held on Sunday, April 23, 2006 from 1-2PM followed by the Memorial Service at 2:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. Burial will follow in the family lot in Park Cemetery, Tilton, NH
