Gilford------Robert H. Schmid, 85, of Gilford died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, NH on April 15, 2006 after a short illness.
Mr. Schmid was born September 8, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of August and Rose (Ulrich) Schmid. Mr. Schmid served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.
Mr. Schmid lived in Manchester for forty-six years before moving to the Lakes Region in 2000. He worked for the Travelers Insurance Company, Personal Lines, and retired at age 64. He enjoyed golfing, boating, fishing, and gardening. He was a loving husband and devoted father. He will be missed.
Mr. Schmid is survived by his wife of 59 years, Janet R. Schmid, and his daughter, Wendy L. Schmid Tetrault, both of Gilford.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 19, 2006 from 5:00PM-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at 10:30AM also at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael C. Graham Pastor of the Gilford Community Church will officiate.
