Arlene M. Downey Laconia-----Arlene M. Downey, 74, of 175 Blueberry Lane, died at Genesis Eldercare – Laconia Center on Thursday, April 9, 2009. Mrs. Downey was the widow of Daniel Downey. Mrs. Downey was born March 19, 1935 in Lawrence, Mass., the daughter of Joseph and Dorothy (Roberts) Lemay. She was a lifetime resident of Lawrence, Mass and was employed at Malden Mills for many years. She moved to Laconia five years ago. Mrs. Downey is survived by a daughter, Linda Griffin, of Sanbornton, NH; four grandchildren, Malissa, Ashley, Gary and Glen Bardsley; a brother and sister-in-law, David & Vicki Downey, of Massachusetts; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Daniel Donahue of Laconia and Joyce and Dennis Brugman of Florida. In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Downey was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Griffin, in 1980. According to Mrs. Downey’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H. is in charge of the arrangements. |
