Laconia, NH---Ruth P. Toole, 93, of the Taylor Community, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Friday, April 24, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Russell Toole, who died in 2004.

Ruth was born November 17, 1915 in Elmira, NY the daughter of Henry and Florence (MacKay) Pickersgill. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1938. She had formerly lived in Mount Kisco, NY and had been employed as the office manager of the White Plains Long Lines Federal Credit Union for 21 years retiring in 1978.

Ruth and her husband lived in East Harwich, MA on Cape Cod from 1978-2002.They enjoyed golf, bridge, and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include 2 daughters Betsy Lincoln and her husband, Bob, of Londonderry and Marcia Presher and her husband, Jim, of Laconia; 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 7 nephews and 4 nieces.

There are no calling hours.

A Memorial service and burial will be held on Friday, May 29, 2009 at Noon in the Chapel at the N.H. State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, N.H.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Taylor Community Sunshine Fund, 435 Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H. 03246 or the St. James Episcopal Church Scholarship Foundation, P. O. Box 732, Laconia, N.H. 03247.
