Mathurin "Mat" Allanos

Gilford-----Mathurin “Mat” Allanos, 80, of Gilford, died at Forestview Manor in Meredith, N.H. on Friday, April 23, 2010. He was the widower of Irene (Boulard) Allanos who died in 2001.

Mr. Allanos was born July 15, 1929 in France, the son of Guillaume and Louise (Daoupharx) Allanos.

Mr. Allanos served in the U.S. Army. He lived in Syossett, New York for several years before moving to Gilford forty years ago. He was employed as a chef for fifty years and had been employed by Lehman Bros., Brickyard Mt. Inn, The Depot and the Margate Resort before retiring January, 1988.

Mr. Allanos is survived by his son, Marc Allanos, of Gilford and by a sister, Solange Lermonier, of California. In addition to his wife, Mr. Allanos was predeceased by his parents.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
