Julia K. Gilbert

Laconia-----Julia K. Gilbert, 73, of 46 Spring Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, April 11, 2010.

Mrs. Gilbert was born August 30, 1936 in Franklin, N.H., the daughter of Martin and Helen (Lasak) Sliva. She was raised in Franklin and attended the local schools. She moved to Laconia fifty-three years ago and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Gilbert had been employed at Metz Electronics in Laconia for several years. She enjoyed cake decorating.

Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, Armand Gilbert, of Laconia and a son, Armand Gilbert II, and his wife, Brenda, all of Laconia; two daughters, Helen Persons of Colorado and Linda Sargent and her husband, Kevin, of Tilton; nine grandchildren, Angie Sargent, Jessica Sargent, Samantha Nowakowski, Renee Persons, Tyra Branon, Tiffany Gilbert, Alicia Gilbert, Amber Gilbert and Shayla Gilbert; sister, Wanda Rosendale, of Florida and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gilbert was predeceased by her five brothers, Frank Sliva, Stanley Sliva, Eddie Sliva, Adam Sliva and Martin Sliva and a sister, Hendrika Bean.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 6-8pm at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:00am at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue, Laconia, N.H.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia, N. H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Food Pantry, 1269 Union Avenue, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
