Lincoln-----Howard A. Chase, 92, formerly of Lincoln, N.H., died at the Golden View HealthCare Center in Meredith, NH on Tuesday, August 13, 2002, following a short illness.
He was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada, November 2, 1909, the son of Warren and Violet (Leavitt) Chase. He had been a resident of Lincoln from 1927 until 1998.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Chase worked in the Franconia Paper Mill for 30 years, and 20 years at the Loon Mountain Ski Resort in Lincoln. He retired in1971. Mr. Chase was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed woodworking, bicycling, dancing, and golfing.
Mr. Chase is survived by two sons, Gene Chase of Hebron, NH and Howard P. "Butch" Chase of Laconia; grandchildren; great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Burbank of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, and an aunt in Franklin, NH. He was predeceased by five brothers, a sister, and an infant son, Robert.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2002 at 2:00 PM at the North Woodstock Episcopal Church. Rev. David Walker, Pastor of the Lincoln-Woodstock Assembly of God Church, will officiate. After cremation, burial will be in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery, Lincoln, NH
