Gilford-------Arthur H. Weeks, 83, of 35 Weeks Road, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, on Wednesday, August 13, 2003, from injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. He was the widower of Mildred (Hudson) Weeks who died on August 17, 1989.
Mr. Weeks was born at the family farm on Weeks Road in Gilford, NH, on January 8, 1920, the son of Fred R. & Lena (Drury) Weeks. He was a dairy farmer and the forth generation to live on and own the family farm on Weeks Road. Mr. Weeks was recipient of the N. H. State Grange Century Farm Award in 1963, a member of the Pomona Grange #52, a member of the Farm Bureau, a former member of the Board of Directors of the Pine Grove Cemetery, and a member of the Leonard Weeks & Descendents of America Inc. Greenland, NH. Mr. Weeks was the Past Grand Marshall of the Gilford Old Home Day in 1991.
Mr. Weeks is survived by a son, Peter A. Weeks, of Gilford, NH and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Walter and by a foster sister.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 from 1:00-2:30 PM at the Weeks Farm on 35 Weeks Road, Gilford, NH. A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, August 18, 2003 at 3:00 PM at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Gilford Community Church, 19 Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH 03249.
