Laconia-----Mrs. Jessie (Phelps) Walker, 68, of 4 Leighton Avenue, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on Sunday, August 24, 2003.
Mrs. Walker was born September 15, 1934 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Elmon L. & Iva (Bachelder) Phelps and was a long time resident of the Lakes Region. She graduated from Laconia High School in 1952 and was a secretary at Scott & Williams for many years, retiring in 1978.
Survivors include her husband, Howard Walker, of Laconia; her
father, Elmon Phelps, of Gilford; a daughter, Sandra Haungs of Penacook, NH; a step-son, John Walker, of Laconia, NH; two grandchildren, Nicole Bragg and Erin Tefft both of Penacook, NH; and a brother, Ivan D. Phelps of Melvin Village, NH. She was predeceased by her mother, Iva (Bachelder) Phelps in 1990 and by her first husband, Sterling Mastine, in 1973.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 29, 2003 at 1:00PM in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH. Rev. Harold Muzzey of the Faith Community Baptist Church, Loudon, NH, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, is in charge of the arrangements.
