Laconia-----William "Bil" C. Zagreski, 89, of 131 Holman Street, died at the New Hampshire Veterans Home, Tilton on Monday, August 9, 2004.
Mr. Zagreski was born January 27, 1915 in Laconia, NH, the son of Felix and Agnes (Kirslis) Zagreski. He served in the U. S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Mr. Zagreski was a life time resident of Laconia and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia, NH. He was the desk manager at the Laconia Tavern for thirty-seven years and also worked at the Laconia State School for twelve years. Mr. Zagreski enjoyed gardening and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine (Lovett) Zagreski, of Laconia, NH: four stepsons and their wives, John & Gloria Corson of New York, James & Jane MacKissock of Laconia, NH, Thomas & Katherine MacKissock of Laconia, NH and Gerald & Anne MacKissock of New York; one stepdaughter, Nancy Merrill, and her husband, Bruce, of Laconia, NH; 6 step grandchildren; one nephew, Stephen Zee, of Connecticut; a niece, Barbara Looby, of Connecicut and a step daughter-in-law, Elizabeth MacKissock, of Laconia. He was predeceased by a stepson, Charles MacKissock, and by a brother, Stephen Zee.
There will be no calling hours. A Funeral Service will be held in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH on Wednesday, August 11, 2004 at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Lambert Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one's own favorite charity.
