Manchester------Richard D. "Patchie" Merrill, 47, of Manchester died on Monday, August 23, 2004 in Manchester, NH.

Mr. Merrill was born February 10, 1957 in Laconia, NH the son of Albert H. and Evelyn D. (Hilliard) Merrill.

He was a long-time resident of Laconia where he attended the local schools. He moved to Manchester four years ago.

Survivors include a son; a daughter, Vanessa Merrill, of Londonderry, NH; a brother, Irvin Merrill, of Franklin, NH; three sisters, Joan Geary of Laconia, NH, Geraldine Soucy of Farmington, NH and Deborah Brough of Laconia, NH and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, Albert Merrill, Jr.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 11:00 AM at Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Horizon's Shelter, 199 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH 03103.
