Laconia-----Mary E. Mudgett, 87, of 153 Valley Street, Lakeport, died at her home on Tuesday, August 24, 2004. Mrs. Mudgett was the widow of Edward H. Mudgett who died in 1981.

Mrs. Mudgett was born July 31, 1917 in Loudon, NH, the daughter of John W. and Lucy A. (Caster) Bachelder. She resided in Lakeport for sixty-seven years.

Mrs. Mudgett was a member of the Laconia Advent Christian Church until it closed. She was a member of the Wicwas Lake Grange and was an avid magnet collector.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna L. and Dana Lowe of Lakeport, NH; three sons and daughters-in-law, John W. & Marilyn Mudgett of New Port Richey, Florida; Dennis W. & Ester Mudgett of San Diego, CA and Richard E. & Rose Mudgett of Laconia, NH; ten grandchildren, Doreen Tant of Tennessee, Cheryl Bigelow of Taiwan, Eric Mudgett of Laconia, NH, Leah Winters of Florida, Michael Mudgett and Laura Pelchat of Laconia, NH, Stephen Mudgett of Concord, NH, Jane Mudgett of California, and Heidi Follansbee and William Lowe both of Laconia, NH; nineteen great grandchildren; one great great grandchild, Hailey Rose Gove of Laconia, NH.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents and by two brothers, Clarence Bachelder and Albert Bachelder.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, August 26, 2004 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, using the Whipple Avenue entrance.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 27, 2004 at 11:00 AM also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Sheldon York will officiate.

Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
