Gilmanton----Edith G. Twombly, 71, of 503 Meeting House Road died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Monday, August 23, 2004.
Mrs. Twombly was born January 18, 1933 in Gilmanton, NH, the daughter of Charles Lyndell and Hattie May (Stockbridge) Smith. Mrs. Twombly was a life long resident of Gilmanton.
She was employed at Allen-Rogers for several years and was a former Nanny to Evelyn & Blake Thompson.
Survivors include her husband of forty-seven years, Charles A. Twombly, Sr. of Gilmanton, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy A. & Bruce Hooker of Belmont, NH; a son, Charles A. Twombly, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren, Benjamin Hooker, Todd Hooker and Bridgette Hooker all of Belmont, NH, Chiara Twombly, Chaille Twombly and Janessa Twombly all of Jacksonville, Florida; two great granddaughters; a sister, Ruth Colson, of Tilton, NH and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her father who died in 1968 and her mother Hattie M. Smith who died August 28, 2004 she was predeceased by a sister, Louise Steele, and by a brother, George L. Smith.
There will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service for Mrs. Twombly and her mother Hattie M. Smith will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Smith Meeting House Cemetery, Gilmanton, NH. The Rev. Linda B. Bolton, Pastor of the Gilmanton Community Church, will officiate.
