Meredith------Mr. Ethan Allen, Sr., 84, of Meredith, NH died Saturday, August 19, 2006.
Ethan was born in Boston, MA, March 5, 1922, the son of Ethan and Alice Allen and grew up in Vermont. He graduated from Boston English High School and attended University of Maine and Northeastern University. He honorably served in WWII in the 20th Air Force, Army Air Corps. After his service, Ethan enjoyed a long career at Carter Rice Storrs & Bement, Inc., Boston, MA for 42 years. During that time, Ethan and his family resided in Quincy, MA. He retired as Vice President, Sales and moved to Gilford, NH where he became an entrepreneur in the paper industry. Ethan was a member of the Lakeview Country Club, Mount Lebanon Lodge, Laconia, NH and volunteered at the Lakes Region General Hospital. Ethan was a devoted husband of the late Marie P.R. Allen, loving father of Ethan Allen, Jr. and is survived by his daughter-in-law, Ellen T. Allen of Falmouth, MA; two grandchildren, Jessica Brooke Allen and Taylor Ethan Allen.
There are no calling hours.
A private funeral graveside service will be held.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the name of Ethan Allen, Sr to the charity of choice.
