Laconia-----Evelyn M. Fontaine, 88, of 175 Blueberry Lane and formerly of Concord Street, Belmont, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2009.

Evelyn was born January 4, 1921 in Belmont the daughter of Howard L. and Mable F. (Hannaford) Reed. She was a longtime resident of Belmont and was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. She had been employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital and the South Road Cemetery.

Evelyn was a member of the Laconia Senior Citizens.

Evelyn is survived by four grandchildren, Phillip Bernier, Jr., of Laconia, Howard Bernier of Scarborough, Maine and Thomas and Amanda Bernier, both of Northfield; many great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Phillip Bernier, Sr. in 1999.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 009 at 11:00 at the family lot in South Road Cemetery, Belmont.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Belmont Baptist Church, 49 Church Street, Belmont, N.H. 03220.
