Laconia-----Iris C. Kugel, 82, of 312 Darby Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, August 24, 2009.

Mrs. Kugel was born October 6, 1926 in Dublin, Ireland, the daughter of Philip and Delia (Kehoe) Fitzsimmons.

Mrs. Kugel was a graduate of Good Council Academy in White Plains, New York and also graduated from Columbia University. She was employed at the Gilbert & Bennet Manufacturing Co. for thirty-seven years, retiring in 1991. She lived in Connecticut for several years before moving to Laconia fifteen years ago.

Mrs. Kugel was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Societies. She was also a member of the Laconia Friendship Club.

Mrs. Kugel is survived by her husband of sixty years, Charles Kugel, of Laconia; a son, Brian Kugel and his wife, Pat Dahme, of Concord; two grandchildren, Kelley Kugel of Somerville, Mass. and Philip Kugel and his wife, Karin, of Chelsea, Mass.; a sister, Dolores Van Bergen of Whiting, New Jersey; two nephews and two nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Parish, 96 Main Street, Belmont, N. H. on Friday, August 28, 2009 at 10:00AM

Burial will follow at 1:00PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, N.H. on Friday

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the charity of your choice.
