LaconiaMrs. Madeline B. Lee, 89, of 68 Blueberry Lane died April 12, 2002 at the Lakes Region General Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born July 4, 1912 in Berlin, NH, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Gosselin) Blackburn.
Prior to her marriage to Maurice W. Lee in September of 1937, she was employed by J. J. Newbury and Attorney Robert Rich in Berlin. She moved to Lancaster with her husband and children in 1946 where she resided until they retired and moved to Ossipee Lake in 1973. While in Lancaster, she was employed by Drakes Variety Store, Sinclair Weeks, former Secretary of Commerce under President Eisenhower, and the Mountain View House in Whitefield, NH. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church and a member and officer of the Business and Professional Womens Club. In 1995, they moved to Laconia where she attended St. Josephs Catholic Church.
In addition to her husband of 64 years, she is survived by her son, David Lee of Florida; her daughter, Carol Boone, of Meredith; a grandson, Mark H. Lamper of Concord; two granddaughters, Cheryl Clemons of Watertown, N. Y. and Debra Lamper of Meredith; two great grandchildren; a sister, Juliette Chandler of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 15, 2002 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home following the calling hours at 3:00 PM. Interment will be in the Summer Street Cemetery, Lancaster, NH at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of ones choice.
