Belmont——-Mrs. Leona M. Downs Grant, 94, of 245 Hoadley Road, died at the Golden View Health Care Center in Meredith on Wednesday, April 17, 2002. Mrs. Grant was the widow of L. Harvey Grant.
Mrs. Grant was born November 30, 1907 in South Tamworth, NH, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Smith) Downs. She lived in Meredith for a number of years before moving to Belmont in 1950.
Mrs. Grant was a member of the Laconia Salvation Army for over fifty years.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Grant and Joseph Grant both of Belmont and a daughter, Edna Dyer of Laconia; many grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by three brothers, Elmer Downs, Albert Downs, and Clifford Downs; by a daughter, Eleanor Casey, by a grandson, Robert (Bill) Annis, Jr. and by a granddaughter, Diane Sallies.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Laconia Salvation Army, 177 Union Avneue, NH on Monday, April 22, 2002 at 10:00AM. Burial will be in the family lot in Meredith Village Cemetery at a later date.
Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.
