Gilford------Mrs. Elizabeth M. Bowman, 91, of 87 Liberty Hill Road, died at the Goldenview Health Care Center in Meredith on Saturday, December 21, 2002. Mrs. Bowman was the widow of Charles W. Bowman who died in 1954.
Mrs. Bowman was born April 1, 1911 in Beaver, PA, the daughter of Charles A. and Mary (Loring) Meserve. She was a secretary for former Governor Walter Peterson and former Governor Hugh Gregg. She lived in Lyndeboro for many years and worked for David L. Babson for twenty years.
Mrs. Bowman was a member of the Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, the Heritage Foundation, the Huguenot Society, and the Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Ancient & Honorable Artillery Auxiliary. She was an avid skier and world traveler and especially enjoyed time in the Caribbean and out West. She loved the out of doors, animals and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Ronald Bowman of Peterborough, NH a daughter, Linda Livingston of Gilford; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one nephew and one niece. She was predeceased by a son, Robert Bowman in 1957, a brother, Charles Meserve, and a great grand daughter, Wendy Carrigan.
There will be no calling hours.
