Laconia---- W. Peter Sewell, 60, of 50 Severance Road, died Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington, MA.
Mr. Sewell was born November 17, 1943 in Laconia, the son of Arthur W. and Kilda E. (Turcotte) Sewell.
Mr. Sewell was a life long resident of Laconia. He was first employed in the family appliance store A.W. Sewell and later was the founder of Opechee Distributors. He is the owner of Sewell Associates and had spent a lifetime in the appliance and cabinetry field.
Mr. Sewell was a former director of the Lakes Regionaire Drum & Bugle Corps. He was an avid snowmobiler and was one of the founders
of the Belknap Snomobilers Club and the first Easter Seal Ride In. He was an avid golfer, a current member of the Laconia Country Club, past Club Champion and a former member of the board of directors.
Mr. Sewell was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include his wife Louise C. (LeGrice) Sewell of Laconia; 3 sons Sean W. Sewell of Laconia; Chris B. Sewell of Kenilworth, Illinois and Matthew R. Sewell of Laconia; a step-son Charles "Chuck" Carter, of Frisco, CO., 6 grandchildren Shauna Sewell, Alyson Sewell and Kelsey Sewell all of Laconia and Emily Sewell, Madelyn Sewell and Ethan Sewell all of Kenilworth, Illinois; 2 sisters Priscilla A. Smith of Beverly Hills, FL and Ruth M. Breton of Cape Coral, FL.; several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a sister Grace Lewis in 2000.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2003 from 6-9 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH, using the Carriage House entrance.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 24, 2003 at 10:30 AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia, NH. The Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps, Pastor of the church will officiate. Spring burial will be in Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the NH Humane Society, PO Box 572, Laconia, NH 03247-0572.
