Laconia. NH-----Mrs. Mildred A. St. Laurent, 73, of 43 Marshall Court and formerly of Port Richey, Florida, died at home on Sunday, December 28, 2003. Mrs. St. Laurent was the widow of Oliver St. Laurent who died November, 2001.
Mrs. St. Laurent was born May 30, 1930 in Exeter, NH, the daughter of Eugene and Elsie (Peacock) Laramie and attended the Robinson Female Seminary in Exeter. She was a long time resident of the Exeter area where she worked at Lou's Diner for 25 years and for Woolworth's for 15 years. In 1991, she and her husband retired to Port Richey, Florida. After her husband's death in 2001, she moved to Laconia, NH to live with her daughter, Beth Bird.
Mrs. St. Laurent was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia.
She enjoyed her many friends, socializing, entertaining, and playing cards.
Survivors include two sons, Ernest Desroches of Mooresville, NC and Wayne Newman of Dover, NH; a daughter, Beth St. Laurent Bird of Laconia, NH; four grandchildren, Tammy Dube, Derek Desroches, Jacqueline Desroches and Megan Bird; two great grandchildren, Matthew Dube and Samantha Dube; two sisters, Patricia Dupuis and Joyce Wheet both of Dover, NH; and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two sisters, Elsie Whalen and Florida Hersom and by three brothers, Carroll Peacock, Eugene Laramie, Jr. and Henry Laramie.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH. on Monday, January 5, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Port Richey Florida at a later date. Burial will be at a later date at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Central New Hampshire Kidney Center, 87 Spring Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
