Round Rock, TX-------Gertrude Landry, 95, originally of Laconia, New Hampshire, died December 9, 2004 in Round Rock, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Peter J. Landry. Born Gertrude DuPont, July 15, 1909, Gertrude was one of thirteen children and the youngest daughter. All her siblings preceded her in death.
Gertrude gave so much to her family in her lifetime. She was one of the last of a dying breed of wife, daughter, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She helped define family members in who they became and was a light that shined continuously in their life. She was small in stature, but she lived large, not saying much, but would always smile when you walked into the room. Gertrude was a spunky woman who is remembered for her peanut butter fudge and having the capacity to provide others, who had lost a grandmother, a second chance of a grandmother?s love. Gertrude lived a long life and left her mark on many hearts.
She is survived by her daughters, Hester Varrell of Florida and Marie Clifton of Texas, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
Memorial Services will be held in the Spring of 2005 at St. Joseph Parish, Main Street, Belmont, New Hampshire. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia.
