Franklin------Elmer C. Lewis, 88, of Golden Crest, 29Baldwin Street and formerly of 320 Old Lake Shore Road, Gilford, NH died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, December 14, 2004.
Mr. Lewis was born July 26, 1916 in Westboro, MA, the son of Edith (Varnum) and Elmer C. Lewis, Sr. Mr. Lewis served in the U. S. Army during WWII. He lived in Westboro, MA for several years before moving to Waterville, Maine.
Mr. Lewis was the assistant treasurer of the Westboro Savings Bank, Westboro, MA from 1945-1960 and was bank auditor at the Federal Trust Co. in Waterville, Maine from 1960-1978. He was a member of the Waterville, Maine Masons and was a former member of the Siloam Lodge #33, A. F. & A. M. in Westboro, MA. In 1998, he received his 50-year pin as a Mason. Mr. Lewis moved to Gilford, NH from Maine and was a member of the Gilford Community Church, Gilford, NH.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert G. and Debbie Lewis, of Vero Beach, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law, Deborah L. and Alan J. Robichaud of Belmont, NH; two grandchildren, Abbe Robichaud and Evan Robichaud; a sister-in-law, Ernestine Melcher, of Laconia, NH; a nephew, Richard Lewis, of Massachusetts and a niece, Betty Roche of Massachusetts. He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor (Shumway) Lewis, in March, 2004 and by a brother, Walter Lewis, in 1998.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Golden Crest Activity Fund, Golden Crest, 29 Baldwin St., Franklin, NH 03235.
