Gilford--------Mark Dietrich Baldwin, 51, died at his home in Gilford, NH. He was born February 27, 1954 in Concord the son of the late Harold Fletcher Baldwin of Springfield, VT, and Gertrude (Hasse) Schneider of Loudon, NH.
He graduated from Merrimack Valley Regional High School in 1972. He was a lifelong resident of the Lakes Region, involved in real estate, insurance, and marketing and sales.
He is survived by a son, Mark J. Baldwin, a student at the University Of Notre Dame, and a daughter, Marley Taylor Baldwin, a student at Plymouth State University; his mother Gertrude Schneider of Loudon, NH; his step-father, Samuel Schneider, of Loudon, and a step-mother, Janet Baldwin, of Springfield VT, his sisters, Anna Rheaume and her husband Armand, of Loudon, and Esther Khristina Hertz, of Darien, CT, and a brother Harold F. Baldwin and his wife Mary Baldwin, of Concord. He is also survived by a niece, Renee (Rheaume) Leppard and her husband, Scott Leppard and their daughter Lauren Leppard, of Loudon, a nephew Michael Baldwin, a student at Champlain College; nieces Monica Baldwin, a student at The College of the Holy Cross, and Lara Baldwin, all of Concord. There are also many other step-brothers and step-sisters, nieces and nephews, about whom he cared.
He enjoyed the company of his beloved cat, Caspian, jogging, golf, fishing, billiards, card-playing and chess. He was a fierce competitor and businessman, and above all, a good friend, a loving father, son, and brother. He will be missed by family and friends in the community.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday January 3, 2006 at 11:00 AM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia using the Carriage House entrance.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Nathan Brody Chemical Dependency Program C/O Lakes Region General Hospital, 80 Highland Street Laconia, NH 03246.
