Meredith----John Stanley Kemp, 88, died on December 11, 2006, at Golden View Health Center, of kidney failure.
Mr. Kemp was born on March 25, 1918 in Otisfield, Maine, the son of John and Marion (Foster) Kemp. He graduated from Portland High School, Portland, Maine and went on to earn a degree in Engineering. He was a Stationary Engineer at North American Packing Co. of Boston for thirty-one years, a maintenance man at Compugraphic, Wilmington, Mass for eleven years and maintenance man at the Calvary Christian School, Derry for eleven years before retiring to the Sugar Brook Retirement Community at the Rumney Bible Conference, Rumney, NH.
Mr. Kemp was a member of the Rumney Baptist Church where he faithfully served his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for sixteen years.
Mr. Kemp is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy L. (Wallace) Kemp of Meredith; a son, Linwood S. Kemp, of Kellyville, OK; three daughters, Eleanor M. Horne of Laconia, Nancy C. Brazee of Danville and Sylvina J. Proodian of Peoria, AZ; five grandchildren, Timothy Proodian, David Proodian, Paul Proodian, Charles Kemp and Rebecca Gallant and two great grandchildren, Christopher Proodian and Connor Proodian.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Rumney Baptist Church, 375 Main Street, Rumney, NH, on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 2:00PM. Mr. Kemp’s son-in-law, Pastor Robert Horne, Pastor of The Bible Speaks Church, Laconia and Pastor Daniel Bowers of the Rumney Baptist Church will officiate.
