Gilford-----Ruth E. Sawyer, 86, of 11 Davis Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Thursday, December 28, 2006.

Mrs. Sawyer was born November 25, 1920 in Malden, MA, the daughter of Joseph R. and Edna B. (Wilder) Nolan. 

Mrs. Sawyer was a Registered Nurse and was employed at the Lakes Region General Hospital for many years.  In 1945, she and her husband started the Sawyer’s Dairy Bar and Dairy.

Mrs. Sawyer was a member of the Gilford Community Church.  She was also a member of the Laconia Athletic and Swim Club where she enjoyed the Health Center and the luncheons that followed.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-four years, George A. Sawyer; two sons, Peter Sawyer and Roger Sawyer and a daughter, Nancy Mawson, all of Gilford; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday,  January 2, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at 11:00AM at the Gilford Community Church, Potter Hill Road, Gilford, NH. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
