June M. Richter
Tilton-----June M. Richter, 86, of Tilton died December 7, 2009.
Born in 1923 in Medford, Mass., June was the daughter of the late William & Jane (Birney) Mahany and graduated from Medford High School in 1941. She resided in Concord and Wilbraham, Mass. and Easton, Milton Mills, Laconia and Tilton, NH.
June was a Certified Braillest with the Library of Congress and the National Braille Press. She brailed for public school special students and was an assistant librarian for Springfield College and Tilton School. She was also the Secretary to the Department of Students at Springfield College.
June was the assistant costumer for the Streetcar Co. Her interests included making cloth dolls, silver jewelry, candles, pottery and stain glass.
June is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Douglas M. Richter, of Tilton; two sons, Robert A. Richter, of Belmont and Douglas M. Richter, Jr. of Braintree, Mass; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Wendall and William Mahany, and by one sister, Irma Taylor.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
