Center Harbor-----Phyllis J. (Raia) Martines, 88, of 32 Chase Circle, died at her home on Monday, February 28, 2005.
Mrs. Martines was born October 27, 1916 in New Salem, PA, the daughter of Julio and Maria (Maggio) Raia. She lived in Chelmsford, MA for several years before moving to Center Harbor in 1977 Mrs. Martines was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church and was a member of the Church Choir. She was also a member of the Lilac Chorus and a member of the N. H. Music Festival.
Survivors include a son, Frank P. Martines, Jr. of West Yarmouth, MA; two daughters, Lillian McDonough of Pelham, NH and Phyllis "Dolly" Fannin of Greer, S. C.; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great- grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Martines was predeceased by her husband, Frank P. Martines, on October 16, 1990; by a son, James John Martines, on January 26, 1976 and by two brothers and one sister.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Rte 25, Meredith, NH on Friday March 4, 2005 at 11AM. Rev. Richard B. Thompson, Pastor of the Church, will celebrate.
Burial will be in the family lot in Shawsheen Cemetery, Bedford, MA. on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246. (Mrs. Martines' family is very appreciative of the care given to her by Hospice.)
