Meredith-----Gus E. Soos, 95, of 24 Chase Road, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Saturday, February 26, 2005.
Mr. Soos was born August 1, 1909 in Conway, Arkansas, the son of the late Theresa and Geza Soos. He servedin the U. S. Army.
Mr. Soos lived in E. Falmouth, MA for several years before moving to Meredith twenty-eight years ago. He was a chef and proprietor of several restaurants in New York, New Jersey and Miami, Florida. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Soos worked for Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant in Meredith, NH for ten years. Mr. Soos was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his beloved wife of forty years, Eva E. (Johnson) Soos, of Meredith, NH; beloved father of two sons and three daughters, Joseph of Meredith, NH, Robert, MaryLou, Georgeann and Jeannine all of Cape Cod, MA; nine grandchildren, Mickalena Falotico of Falmouth, MA, Joseph Burgum of Hyannis, MA, Robert Falotico, Alcide Cormier and Garrett Cormier all of Falmouth, MA, Jason Costa, Daniel Falotico, Laura Falotico and Stevie Burgum all of Mashpee, MA; two great grandchildren, Cee Jay Falotico of Falmouth, MA and Giovanni Cormier of Hyannis, MA; five brothers; two sisters and several nephews and nieces.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2005 at 2:00PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Old North Main Street, Laconia, NH. Bishop Jeff Tidd will officiate.
Spring burial will in the family lot in Oakland Cemetery, Meredith, NH Donations may be made in Mr. Soos' memory to the Missionary Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, c/o Jeff Tidd, 77 Spruce Drive, Gilford, NH 03249.
