Gilford-----Andrew J. Stack III, 69, of 81Yasmin Drive, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia, on Tuesday, February 15, 2005.
Mr. Stack was born May 20, 1935 in Cambridge, MA, the son of Genevieve (McDonald) and Andrew J. Stack, Jr.
Mr. Stack was a graduate of Proctor Academy in Andover, NH. He served in the U. S. Coast Guard for four years.
Mr. Stack moved from Dedham, MA to New Hampshire thirty years ago where he was employed at Willey's Express for several years. He was a Mason and a Shriner.
Mr. Stack enjoyed life to the fullest. He loved to race cars, boats, bobsledding and even tried the high jump and luge at Lake Placid, New York. He taught and shared the love of skiing and roller skating with his family. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed boating and camping with his family and friends. His passion for travel led him to live in Hawaii and Florida and to R.V. cross country twice. He followed professional figure skating as far as Europe.
Survivors include his wife, Magdalena "Len" (Sabaldan ) Stack of Gilford, NH; a daughter and son-in-law, Abigail "Abby" and Jason Salisbury, of Gilford, NH; one grandchild, Mija Salisbury, of Gilford, NH; a sister, Clarice Haigh, of Ohio and several nephews and nieces. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Genevieve "Buddy" Gibbons, in 1996.
Calling Hours will be held on Friday, February 18, 2005 from 7:00-9:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Saturday, February 19, 2005, at 10:00AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will celebrate. Burial will be at a later date.
