Gilford-----Richard D. Carlson, 83, of 9 Sargent Place, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital, Laconia on Tuesday, February 20, 2007.

Mr. Carlson was born November 18, 1923 in Ridgeway, Pennsylvania, the son of Richard R. and Jennie B. (Steinlehner) Carlson.

Mr. Carlson served in the US Navy during WWII

Mr. Carlson lived in Connecticut for many years before moving to Gilford twelve years ago.  He was a Security Guard in the Lakes Region for a number of years.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Willoughby) Carlson, of Gilford; three sons, Ron, Tim and Kent; two daughters, Cynthia and Cindy; several grandchildren and two brothers, Raymond Carlson of Pennsylvania and Robert Carlson of Florida.

There will be no calling hours.

A Graveside Service will be held in the spring at the N. H. State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH.  Rev. John Davies, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.
