Laconia----Emily H. Watson, 100, formerly of 25 Union Avenue, Laconia and Belknap Mt. Road, Gilford, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Wednesday, February 21, 2007. She was the widow of Almond Roland Watson who died in 1968.
Mrs. Watson was born February 4, 1907, in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Arthur H. and Mandah H. (Brownlow) Lord. She was a life long resident of the Laconia/Gilford area and had been a resident of the Belknap County Nursing for a number of years.
Mrs. Watson served in the U. S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1945. She was employed at the Laconia Clinic for twelve years and for thirteen years was employed at the Belknap County Registrar of Deeds.
Mrs. Watson was a member of the Gilford Community Church. She was had been a member of the Esther Rebekah Lodge No. 9 since 1940 and a member of the Son & Daughters of Nathan Lord of Berwick, Maine.
Survivors include a stepson, Peter D. Watson, of Worcester, MA; a stepdaughter, Judith Crowley, of Florida; five step grandchildren; a number of step great grandchildren; a sister, Mary L. Haven, of Laconia, NH and several nephews & nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Everett L. Lord and Charles E. Lord and by a sister, Edna H. Day.
According to Mrs. Watson’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.
A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
