Laconia-----Ramsay Willett, 81, of 29 Sanborn Street, died on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 at the Lakes Region General Hospital.
Mr. Willett was born June 23 1922 in Lowell, MA, the son of Raymond A. and Loretta (Labarge) Willett.
Mr. Willett lived in Manchester, NH for several years and was a graduate of St. Anselm College. He was a glider pilot in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War II and was a member of the NH Air National Guard for over twenty years.
Mr. Willett moved to Laconia fifty-two years ago and was the Business Administrator at the Laconia State School for over thirty years, retiring in 1984. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Laconia, NH.
Mr.Willett was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing tennis and gardening. He was a wonderful father and grandfather.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Marcella (Goulet) Willett of Laconia; five sons, Ramsay "Randy" Willett, Jr. and his wife, Elaine, of Meredith, NH, Dr. Lee R. Willett and his wife, Joanne, of Gilford, NH, Daniel S. Willett of Houston, Texas, James J. Willett and his wife, Julie, of Pepperell, Mass. and Thomas E. Willett and his wife, Jamie, of Dover, NH; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Gordon Willett of Zellwood, Florida; a sister, Natalie Peoples of Hamburg, New York and nine nieces and fourteen nephews.
Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2004 from 4:00-7:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, Laconia, NH on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Gary Kosmowski, Pastor of the Church, will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, NH at 1:00 PM.
