Alton Bay, NH-----Walter H. Brent, Jr., 78, beloved father, grandfather and brother, of 316 Woodlands Road, died at the Venice Regional Medical Center in Venice, Florida on December 18, 2005.
Walter was born September 9, 1927 in Boston, MA, the son of Katherine (Blunden) and Walter H. Brent, Sr. He lived in the Boston area for most of his life. He called Alton Bay his primary home for the past fifteen years while wintering in Florida.
Walter graduated from Tufts University in 1950 and served in the U. S. Navy during WWII.
Walter dabbled in many aspects of business ranging from chemical sales, business consulting and summer camps. Summer camps were his passion and he was involved with the directing, owning, developing and brokerage. He was a wildlife rehabilitator for over fifty years, rehabilitating animals from elephants and bears to birds, raptors and snakes.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Brent, of Alton Bay, NH, Robert Brent of Gilford, NH and Frederick P. Brent III of Plymouth, NH; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild and two sisters, Virginia Risley and Barbara Biederman, both of Connecticut.
A Celebration of His Life will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2006 at 2:00PM at the Center Harbor Christian Church, 80 Dean Road, Center Harbor, NH. Pastor Robert P. Farah, Pastor of the Church, will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maine Teen Camp, 481 Brown Field, Porter, ME 04068 or the Medolark Camp, 82 Medolark Road, Washington, Maine 04574.
