Laconia-----Lucile Perley Simmons, 83, of 65 Ledges Drive and formerly of 136 Franklin St., Lakeport, died at the Congregate Living Center at the Taylor Community on Wednesday, January 18, 2006. Mrs. Simmons was born August 12, 1922 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Lew K. and Edna J. (Kendall) Perley.
She was a lifetime resident of Lakeport/Laconia. She attended the local schools and graduated from Laconia High School in 1940. In 1944, she graduated from the University of New Hampshire, Durham, NH. Mrs. Simmons was employed by the Laconia School District for twenty-two years, teaching at Elm Street School and the Memorial Middle School. She retired in 1980.
Mrs. Simmons was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church.
Mrs. Simmons is survived by her husband of sixty years, Charles A. Simmons, of Laconia; daughter, Sharon Simmons Cheeseman and her husband, William, of Quechee, Vermont, and daughters Gail Simmons Loncher of Fredonia, New York and Martha Simmons of Wellesley, MA; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours.
A Memorial Service will be held in the Spring in the Chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH. The date and time will be announced.
