Laconia-----Shirley (Bates) Caldrain, 70, of 7 Church Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Monday, January 22, 2007.
Shirley was born February 2, 1936 in Garland, Maine, the daughter of Earl E. and Dorothy (Shute) Bates. She was a lifelong resident of Laconia.
Shirley was a member of the Laconia Congregational Church. She was an artist and enjoyed knitting.
Survivors include a son, Parker Caldrain, of Belmont; four daughters, Kelli LeBel of Gilford, Dori Fay of Meredith, Hali Dearborn of Belmont and Paige Doucette of Laconia; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Christine Danyow, Andrew Fay, Erin Fay, Jayden Doucette, Aleeya Metevier, Elizabeth Caldrain and Matthew Caldrain; one brother, Larry Gould, of Auburn, Maine and a sister, Audrey Bezanson, of Florida and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Paul Gould.
A Calling Hour will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2006 from 1:00-2:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Funeral Service will follow the Calling Hour at 2:00PM also at the Funeral Home. Rev. Dr. Warren H. Bouton, Pastor of the Laconia Congregational Church, will officiate.
Spring burial will be in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
