Bert Whitmen Mills

Concord—Bert Whitmen Mills, 77, of 6 Oakmont Drive died at Pleasant View Center on Wednesday, January 20,2010.

Mr. Mills was born December 6, 1932 in Manchester, NH, the son of Everett E. and Etta (Rollins) Mills. He grew up in Derry, NH and attended the Tilton School and was a graduate of UNH. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959. He owned and operated Mills Industries, originally located in Manchester, NH and moved to Laconia in 1985 and retired in 2002.
Survivors include his wife, Lilace J. (McBride) Mills, of Concord; a son, Michael Mills, and his wife, Kathy, of Laconia; a daughter, Susan Mills, of Concord; four grandchildren, Lisa, Brian, Amanda and Justin; a sister, Patricia Raches, of Nevada and seven nephews and six nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Mills was predeceased by his two brothers, Arthur Mills and Everett Mills Jr.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.

Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Derry, N.H.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the Haiti Relief Fund of your choice.
