William "Bill" A. Garland

Laconia-----William “Bill” A. Garland, 63, of 26 Fair Street, died at the Lakes Region General Hospital on Sunday, January 11, 2009.

Mr. Garland was born July 1, 1945 in Wolfeboro, N.H., the son of Stanley L. and Edith M. (Nichols) Garland. He lived in Wolfeboro for several years before moving to Laconia over thirty-five years ago. He had been employed at Aavid Thermalloy, LLC. for nineteen years.

Mr. Garland served in the N.H. Army National Guard from 1964-1974. From May, 1968 to September, 1969, he served in Vietnam and was a member of in the U. S. Army Reserve. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Laconia Post #1670 and the American Legion Wilkins-Smith Post #l. He loved to cook and enjoyed watching sports.

Mr. Garland is survived by a son, William “Bill” A. Garland, of Moultonboro; two brothers, Russell Garland of Laconia and Charles Garland of Florida; a sister, Joyce Constant, of Gilford and several nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

Family, friends and co-workers are invited to attend a celebration of life for Bill on Friday, January 16, 2009 at 11:00AM at the Center Stage Cafe of Meadowbrook, 72 Meadowbrook Lane, Gilford, N.H 03249. Rev. Michael Graham, Pastor of the Gilford Community Church, will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, N. H. 03246.
