Laconia-----Mrs. Alice Rita Kelly, 72, of 83B Batchelder Street, died on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at the Lakes Region General Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the widow of Floyd Kelly who died in 1979.
Mrs. Kelly was born September 12, 1930 in Laconia, NH the daughter of Samuel & Amelia (Begin) Fitts. She was a lifetime resident of Laconia and was employed at Unico Corp. She enjoyed sewing and music and loved reading, especially "Chicken Soup" books.
Mrs. Kelly was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Plummer and Lillian Kelly both of Laconia; a son, Paul Huard, of Belmont; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; seven brothers, Ernest Fitts of Belmont, Robert Fitts of Littleton, Warren Fitts of New York, Merrill Fitts of Belmont, Armand Fitts of Gilford, Donald Fitts of Sanbornton and Phillip Fitts of Concord and many nephews and nieces. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three sons, Michael Kelly, Robert Kelly and Wayne Kelly, by a sister, Etta Fitts, and by two brothers, Samuel Fitts and Theodore Fitts.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 18, 2003 from 2:00-4:00PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Lakeport. Rev. Francis Kelso will be the celebrant. Burial will follow in the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia.
