Gilford------Kaila Marie Murphy, 16, of 991 Cherry Valley Road, died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH on Sunday, July 13, 2003. She was born September 3, 1986 in Laconia, NH the daughter of Patrick F. & Ginga D. (Patten) Murphy.
Kaila was a lifetime resident of the Lakes Region and was an honor student and member of the Junior Class at Gilford High School. She was a member of the K.O.O.L. (Kids Overcoming Obstacles in Life) Kids Group and for several years was a member of the Swift Water Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include her parents, Patrick F & Ginga D. Murphy of Gilford; a sister, Carol A. Murphy, of Gilford; her maternal grandmother, Diane (Nedeau) McAskill of Laconia and maternal grandfather, Roland Patten, Sr. of Laconia; several aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many friends. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Antoinette (Aquino) Murphy and James P. Murphy, Sr.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2003 from 7-9 PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia, NH on Friday, July 18, 2003 at 10:00. Deacon Michael Shaulis of St. Joseph Church, Uncle of Kaila, will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to M.D.A. (for Friedreich's Ataxia Research), 360 Rte. 101, Unit 3A, Bedford, NH 03110
