Belmont-----Mrs. Cecile M. (Martineau) Ellsworth, 76, of 41 Sargent Street, died at her home on Wednesday, July 14, 2004. Mrs. Ellsworth was the widow of Francis H. Ellsworth, Sr. who died in 1985.
Mrs. Ellsworth was born August 21, 1927 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Louise (Landry) Martineau. During WWII, she sang on the radio. She had lived in Belmont for fifty-five years. Mrs. Ellsworth worked at the New Hampshire State Hospital for fifteen years, retiring in 1993.
Mrs. Ellsworth was an active member of the Friendly Club of Belmont for fifty years, and was a Girl Scout and a 4-H Leader. Because of her beautiful voice,
Mrs. Ellsworth participated in the Belmont P.T.A. shows and sang at St. Joseph Parish.
Survivors include two sons, Francis H. Ellsworth, Jr. of Bangor, Maine and Mark J. Ellsworth of Concord, NH; two daughters, Lynda Lauriat and her husband, Jed, of Mt. Desert, Maine and Mary Louise Charnley of Belmont, NH and her husband, Paul Charnley, who is stationed in Iraq; eight grandchildren, Angela Ellsworth and Melodie Ellsworth both of Laconia, NH; Kasha Robertson of Kenduskag, Maine, Aaron Weaver of South West Harbor, Maine, Marisa Ellsworth of Dallas, Texas, Preston Ellsworth of Barton, Vermont, Abbagail Ellsworth and Caleb Charnley both of Belmont, NH; two great granddaughters, Peyton Normandin of Laconia, NH; and Kiana Robertson of Kenduskag, Maine; a sister, Arlene Wolfe of Torrington, CT and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.
There will be no calling hours.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 19, 2004 at 10:00AM at St. Joseph Parish, Belmont, NH.
Burial will follow in the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
