Selma B. Jameson

 LACONIA,  Selma B. Jameson, 80, of Charlevoix Place died Thursday, July 1, 2004 at Lakes Region General Hospital after a long illness.

She was born in Concord, N.H. the daughter of Ernest A. and Loretta Mae (Arnold) Hammar.

 She moved to Laconia in 1998. She grew up in Concord. She was a graduate of the Concord High School Class of 1941. She moved to Henniker, N.H. with her husband, the late Lyndon H. (Pete) Jameson, in 1941 and resided there after his return from combat in Europe during World War II. The couple spent several years in the mid 1950’s operating a training farm for the Cincinnati Association For The Blind in Mason, OH. She returned with her husband to New Hampshire, first to Henniker and then subsequently returning to Concord. Mrs. Jameson was a member of the National Grange, and Pinconia Grange in Concord.

 After the death of her husband in 1972 she committed herself to raising her sons. She also worked for the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services, until her retirement in 1992. 

 Survivors include her five sons and their wives, Alan A. Jameson and his wife Janet of Concord; Barry H. Jameson and his wife Linda of Kittery, ME.; Douglas E. Jameson and his wife Barbara of Laconia, N.H.; Peter L. Jameson and his wife Kimberly of Pittsfield, N.H. and David H. Jameson and his wife Lisa of Drummonds, TN. She had sixteen grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. She also survived by a brother, Arnold H. Hammar and his wife Beverly (Angwin) of Clovis, N.M.; three sisters; Nyleen G. Dorais and her husband John of Orange, CT.; Faith J. Levesque of Laconia, N.H.; and Ernesta (Dee) Dorais of Manchester, N.H.

 There will be no calling hours. A memorial service is planned for September 4, which would have been Mrs. Jameson’s 81st birthday. Burial will be with her late husband in the Henniker New Cemetery in Henniker, N.H.

 Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH is in charge of the arrangements.

 In lieu of flowers, a donation to Community Health and Hospice Inc. 780 North Main St. Laconia, N.H. 03246 is recommended.
