Laconia----Celia “Babe” Meyer died at the age of 91 on July 1, 2005. She was a resident of the Taylor Community in Laconia, NH.
Celia was born in Newark, New Jersey and grew up in Delhi, New York. She lived most of her adult life in New York City and was married to Carl Meyer for 40 until his death in 1987.
During her working career she was a secretary for New York Senator Tom Desmond and she also worked on Wall Street. She moved to New Hampshire in 1997 to be closer to her family. She loved working on crossword puzzles. She especially loved to play scrabble, she was a highly skilled player and passed this on to her son Scott Meyer of Plymouth. Other survivors include Scott’s wife Nancy Dyer of Plymouth; 2 grandchildren Rissa and Gabriel Meyer both of Plymouth and a sister Gertrude Salzberg of Maryland.
There are no calling hours.
A Graveside service will be held Monday July 4, 2005 at 11:00 at Union Cemetery, Academy Street, Laconia, NH.

Shiva will be held at the Meyer home at 38 Thurlow Street, Plymouth Monday July 4 and Tuesday July 5 at 7:00 PM.
