Laconia-----Barbara L. (Ames) Briggs, 82, of 206 Washington Street, Lakeport, died at her home on Sunday, July 10, 2005.
Mrs. Briggs was born August 2, 1922 in Laconia, NH, the daughter of Henry M. and Isadore l. (MacMurphy) Ames. She was a long time resident of Lakeport. She worked in food services at the Laconia State School for several years and also worked at Laconia Needle for nineteen years, retiring in July, 1987.
Survivors include a son, Frank H. Lavigne, of Franklin, NH; a daughter, Linda Tardif, of Laconia; two grandchildren, Michelle Champion and Mark Forgione, both of Laconia; six great grandchildren, Amber Felch, Samantha M. Champion, Crystal Champion and Katey Champion, all of Laconia and Mark, Jr. and Jackson, both of Alton and a nephew, Dennis Ames, of Sanbornton. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Ames, in 2000 and by a granddaughter, Valerie Felch, 1998.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2005 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Laconia, NH.
