Martha Spivey Hall

Sanbornton-----Martha Spivey Hall, 93, passed away at the home of her son surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 5, 2005. Martha went home to be with her Lord. Martha was the matriarch of a large family that loved her and will miss her very much.

The oldest of ten children, she cared for her family and many others in her life. She loved sewing, quilting, gardening and cooking. Martha resided in Scotland Neck, N.C. before moving to Lakeport ten years ago. Martha, or “Granny Hall” as she was affectionately called by all who know her, is survived by her son, James, and his wife, Barbara Hall of Sanbornton, NH; six grandchildren, Jay and his wife Debbie Hall of Bow, Tracey and her husband Sid Lewis of Sanbornton, Scott and his wife Karyn Hall of Billerica, MA, Todd and his wife Sue Hall of Belmont, Travis and his wife Shirley Hall of Gilmanton and Tina and her husband Chris Drew of Chichester; sixteen great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; two brothers, Emmett Spivey of Wareham, MA and Richard Spivey of Greenville, N.C. Martha was predeceased by her husband, George, a grandson, Trevor, and seven siblings.

At Martha’s request, there will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service for the family will be held at the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home. She will be cremated and her ashes buried beside her husband in Scotland Neck, N.C.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Community Health & Hospice, Inc., 780 North Main Street, Laconia, NH 03246.
