Robert "Rob" L. Roy

Northfield------Robert ‘Rob” L. Roy, 61, of 25 Blueberry Lane and formerly of 23 Durkee Street, Laconia, died at Catholic Medical Center, Manchester on Wednesday, July 20, 2005

Mr. Roy was born May 13, 1944 in Lawrence, MA, the son of Wilfrid and Irene (Gauvin) Roy. Mr. Roy lived in Pelham for several years before moving to Laconia where he lived for seventeen years.

In March, 2005, he moved to Northfield. Mr. Roy served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and also served in the Merchant Marines. He was a clerk for the U. S. Postal Service in Lawrence, MA and retired in 1987.

Mr. Roy loved his grandchildren and enjoyed fishing, astronomy and tinkering with cars and computers.

Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Joy H. (Bryant) Roy, of Northfield; two sons, Shawn B. Roy of Plymouth and Tracy A. Roy of Tyngsboro, MA; two daughters, Amy B. Roy of Laconia and Raquel R. McCutcheon of Gilford; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Roger Roy of Abington, MA and Raymond Roy of Hampton Beach, NH; two sisters, Cecile Roberts of Eugene, Oregon and Claire Petrie of Tucson, Arizona; one aunt, Rita Gauvin, of Brockton, MA and many nephews and nieces.

There will be no calling hours.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2005 at 11:00AM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH 03246

Burial will follow in the family lot at South Road Cemetery, Belmont, NH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220-3049.
