Gilford-----Clayton G. Moulton, 83, of 78 Liberty Hill Road, died at his home on Monday, July 16, 2007. Mr. Moulton was the widower of Marion (LaRoche) Moulton who died in 1993.
Mr. Moulton was born April 10, 1924 in Meredith, N.H., the son of George and Hazel (Nickles) Moulton. He lived in Belmont, N.H. for many years before moving to Gilford in 1989.
Mr. Moulton served in the U. S. Marine Corps in the Central and Western Pacific during WWII. He was employed at Pike Instrustries for over thirty years and during the winter months, he was employed at Wallace Oil Co., Meredith.
Mr. Moulton was a member of AARP and the Belmont American Legion Post #58.
Survivors include four sons, John Moulton of California, Jeffrey Moulton of Florida, David Moulton of Concord and Peter Moulton of Gilford; three stepsons, Bruce Simoneau and Lloyd Pickering, Jr. both of Belmont and Glenn Pickering of Center Harbor; two stepdaughters, Joanne Gustafson of Gilford and Cheryl Goss of New Hampton; many grandchildren and step grandchildren; several great grandchildren; a brother, Kendall Moulton, of Kennebunk, Maine; a sister, Beverly Smith, of Holderness; many nephews and nieces and his very good friend, Helen Miller, of Meredith. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Edward Moulton, Richard Moulton and Leroy Moulton.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007 from 6:00-8:00PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, N. H.
According to Mr. Moulton’s wishes there will be no funeral service.
Burial, will full Military Honors, will be held at the family lot in Union Cemetery, Academy St., Laconia on Saturday, July 21, 2007 at 11:00AM.
