Walter C. Johnson

Gilford, NH------ Walter C. Johnson, 75 of 615 Cherry Valley Road, Gilford died at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon on Saturday July 14, 2007.

           Mr. Johnson was born January 27, 1932 in Jersey City, New Jersey the son of Walter A. and Mae (Sullivan) Johnson. He had been a resident of the Lakes Region for 32 years coming from New Jersey.

         Mr. Johnson was employed by R.C.A. and G.E. as an electrical engineer and was involved in the development of the landing radar for the Moon landing with R.C.A. and NASA and also with the development of the CT Scan and the MRI.  He was active in A.S.M.E. and was a past President of The Wildwood Assoc. in Laconia. He was also a former Gunstock Ski Area Commissioner. He enjoyed traveling the world and was an avid skier and golfer and was a master gardener.

         He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia, NH

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Colette (Introcaso) Johnson of Gilford, NH and Sebring FL; a daughter and son-in-law Denise and Henry “Hank” Beauparlant of Sebring FL; a brother Richard Johnson of Flemington, NJ; 2 grandsons, Chris Beauparlant of NJ and Brian Beauparlant of NJ; 2 great-granddaughters Haley Beauparlant and Sarah Crowell; a nephew and a niece.

         Memorial Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Wilkinson-Beane funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, NH using the Carriage House entrance.

A Memorial Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wed. July 18, 2007 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church 30 Church Street Laconia. The Rev. Gary Kosmowski pastor of the church will officiate.

         In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.

         Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia NH is in charge of the service.
