Meredith----Laverne McDonald, 85, of  Meredith, died at the Golden View Healthcare Center on Thursday, July 5, 2007.

Mrs. McDonald was born October 1, 1921 in Wheeler, Texas, the daughter of  T. A. and Eunice Treadwell.

Mrs. McDonald had lived in Texas, Colorado and in Belknap County, N. H. for many years.  She had been employed at Beauchaine Machine Shop, Laconia and Webster Valve, Franklin.  She was employed for thirty years, retiring in 1976.

Survivors include two sons, Charles McDonald and his companion, Pat Tourigny, of Meredith, N.H. and Harrold McDonald of Longview, Texas; a daughter, Peggy Van Bennekum of Gilford, N.H.; nine grandchildren, Wesley McDonald, Richard McDonald, Jr., Thomas McDonald, Michelle Hurst, Charles McDonald, Jr., Sheila Segelioi, Mark Pecinski, Jimmy Pecinski and Scott Sleeper; many great grandchildren; three brothers and a sister in Texas and many nephews and nieces.  In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Richard McDonald on April 11, 1996.

There will be no calling hours.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 11:00AM at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Gilford, N.H.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Hampshire Humane Society, PO Box 571, Laconia, N. H. 03247.
